I own the AWS infrastructure of a production LLM conversational assistant serving 30,000 internal agents, with an end-to-end latency target of under 30 seconds. Serverless on App Runner, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kinesis and S3, with OpenAI as the model provider and a Python layer on FastAPI and httpx. Full prompt and response traceability through Kinesis for a regulated banking environment. Delivery automation with GitHub Actions and CloudFormation.

Intensive DevOps and cloud bootcamps in Spanish. I write and maintain the hands-on curriculum myself: a 13-module AWS lab library and multi-level programmes on KVM/libvirt and Python. CKA, CKAD and CKS certification preparation at CAS Training (Jul 2025). At CICE (Mar 2021 – Dec 2022) I was profesor titular on the Cloud Computing master's, teaching the AWS and Google Cloud modules; at AEPI (Oct 2022 – May 2023), Python and PostgreSQL.

Cloud Engineer

I led the migration of the on-premise Kubernetes estate — 6 vanilla clusters — to AWS EKS, covering cluster architecture, workload cutover and the IaC rewrite. I designed and operated the platform across EKS and on-premise Linux clusters (4–6 clusters, 6–8 nodes each) as the sole engineer responsible, inside a 12-person delivery team. AWS infrastructure for around 12 enterprise clients in telecommunications, retail and other sectors, with Terraform and TFCDK in Python. Helm charts authored from raw manifests, and MySQL and PostgreSQL estates on Amazon RDS.

Technical instructor and systems integrator

Ten years as a technical instructor at CENTEC (Linux, Windows Server, Cisco networking, VPN/SSH/SSL security, PHP and JavaScript), preceded by integration and infrastructure roles: Novell and Windows environments, Cisco routing, structured cabling, LAN/WAN design, VoIP and DMZ.

Background

From bare metal to the cluster, no layers skipped.

I started installing physical servers and wiring networks. Then came Linux systems, infrastructure as code, the cloud — AWS above all — and finally Kubernetes. I did not arrive at the cloud from development: I came up from the bottom, one layer at a time.

That does not make me a specialist in any one of them, and I do not claim to be. It makes me useful when a problem spans several at once — which is most of the time. A service that stops responding is rarely explained by looking at a single layer.

Today I work as a DevOps Engineer at GFT Technologies, on an LLM conversational service on AWS for BBVA. Before that I spent nine years at Paradigma Digital building and running cloud infrastructure for enterprise clients.

In parallel, I teach. I prepare professionals for CKA, CKAD and CKS, and I build the labs they practise on myself. It is the part I enjoy most: it forces you to understand things properly, because a student always asks exactly what you had not looked at.
